OUR STORY
A CENTURY OF TENNIS.
A LIFETIME OF COMMMUNITY.
Maccabi Tennis Club is the oldest Jewish sporting club in Victoria, with a proud history stretching back more than a century.
Since establishing our home at Moorleigh Reserve in 2008, the club has grown into a community hub for players of different ages, abilities and backgrounds. Today, 140 members call the club home, alongside juniors, competition and social players, families, schools and community groups.
It's where friendships are made, generations come together and our community connects through sport.
That is what we're investing in.
Hear from our members about what the club means to them and why this rejuvenation matters for its future.
1. LIGHTING THE WAY
An important part of the project has already been completed, with new lighting installed on the back four courts. All eight courts can now be used in the evenings, creating more opportunities for members to play and making better use of the entire facility.
Your support helps fund this major upgrade and the broader rejuvenation of our home.
2. RESURFACING COURTS
After 18 years of almost constant use, our court surfaces are showing significant wear, with cracks and deterioration affecting play and safety.
The next stage will resurface all eight courts with a mix of hard court and synthetic grass surfaces, creating safer, weather-resistant, higher-quality courts for our members and the wider community.
3. CLUBHOUSE UPGRADES
Our clubhouse is at the heart of club life. It's where members connect, celebrate and share in the club's rich history before and after they step onto the court.
The project will replace damaged and ageing tables and chairs, creating a more comfortable and welcoming space for players, families and visitors to come together.
